Cancer support group plans events

Compass, a new support group sponsored by Anne Arundel Medical Center for individuals with metastatic cancer, meets regularly to discuss treatment options, listen to guest speakers and socialize.

Upcoming events include:

Feb. 7 -- 9 a.m., Walk in Quiet Waters Park (weather permitting).

Feb. 12 - 10:30 a.m., Coffee at Zu, Bay Forest Shopping Center, 934 Bay Ridge Road, Annapolis.

Feb. 28 -- 5:30 p.m., dinner out at restaurant, to be determined.

March 13 -- 6:30 p.m., guest speaker Dr. Stephanie Porter discusses complementary therapies and related topics. Early dinner out prior to speaker. Anne Arundel Medical Center, Sajak Pavilion, 2002 Medical Parkway, Annapolis.

March 25 -- 10:30 a.m., Coffee at Zu, Bay Forest Shopping Center, 934 Bay Ridge Road, Annapolis.

May 3 -- Living Beyond Breast Cancer's second annual Conference for Women Living with Advanced Breast Cancer. West Conshohocken, Pa.

Oncology practice joins AAMC staff

The medical oncologists of Chesapeake Oncology and Hematology Associates have joined the medical staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Chesapeake Oncology and Hematology will be located in the Wayson Pavilion, 2003 Medical Parkway on the hospital campus outside Annapolis.

The physicians of Chesapeake Oncology and Hematology Associates see more than 5,000 patients annually at four locations throughout Maryland. They offer chemotherapy infusion services on-site and participate in many clinical trials. They offer multilingual and multicultural physicians, and practice representatives are available 24 hours a day.
