Provident Bank appointed Christopher Mata as a vice president in the commercial banking division of the Baltimore-based regional bank.

BB&T appointed Stephen Smith as assistant vice president in the regional bank's Columbia-based commercial lending department.

The Hilton Columbia announced that David Wilson has joined the hotel staff as chef.

Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs said Rod S. Trump joined the international insurance brokerage's Baltimore office as senior vice president.

Ober/Kaler named Richard F. Lindstrom as a principal in the Estates & Trusts Group of the regional law firm's Baltimore office.

Hodes, Pessin & Katz PA admitted Erin C. Thayer to the Towson-based law firm as an associate in its litigation group.
