January 24, 2008|By Richard Irwin

City police were seeking a physician suffering from cancer and depression who was reported missing Sunday by her parents, said a detective assigned to the Police Department's missing-persons unit.

Lorraine Fertsch, 49, who was last seen leaving her home in the 3000 block of Abell Ave. near Union Memorial Hospital, is a private physician who might be suicidal, Detective Timothy Gardner said.

When last seen, Fertsch, who is 5 feet 8 and 240 pounds, was wearing a purple hat, gray jacket, a gray sweater, navy blue sweat pants and clog shoes, Gardner said. She carried a pink purse.

Anyone with information is urged to call Gardner at 443-984- 7385.
