Girls basketball

No. 2 St. Frances 69, No. 13 Archbishop Spalding 47 -- Shatyra Hawkes scored 19 and Brianna Hutchen 16 as the visiting Panthers (15-3, 8-1), still playing without All-Metro center Kandice Green (sprained ankle), defeated the Cavaliers. Janay Brinkley led the Cavaliers (12-6, 5-5) with 15 points.

No. 5 Mount Hebron 65, Reservoir 42 -- The Vikings shook off a sluggish start to defeat the visiting Gators (10-4). At one point, the Vikings (14-0) were down 17-6 before using a 22-6 second quarter to take control. Deanna Dydynski led all scorers with 23 points. Dominque Williams had 17 points for Reservoir.

No. 6 Catonsville 55, Milford Mill 53 -- Behind 26 points from Shamika Williams, the visiting Comets (12-2) held off a late surge from the Millers (6-5). Devonne Richardson scored eight of her 12 points in the second half to help Milford Mill rally from an 11-point deficit.

Girls swimming

Mount de Sales 89, McDonogh 81 -- The visiting Sailors (4-0) used their depth to remain undefeated as they wrapped up the dual meet portion of their season with a victory over McDonogh (5-1). Emily Dean led the way by setting a school record in the 100-yard backstroke, winning in 59.31. The senior also swam the second leg of the Sailors' 400-yard freestyle relay, also a school record with a time of 3:40.22. "Every race was a fight to the finish," coach Courtney Gahagan said.
