Norris, Pastor Jacqueline

December 30, 2007

On Saturday, December 22, 2007, Dr. Jacqueline Norris departed this life to be in the "nearer presence of the Lord". She was born in Four Mile, S.C., on September 9, 1926, to the late Jasper James and Bertha Kinsey Carter. Pastor Jackie was educated in the public school system of South Carolina, trained in the school of the Holy Spirit and later received her honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Alpha Bible College. At the tender age of twenty, Pastor Jackie married the late Gordon L. Norris. They shared 45 blessed years together. From this union, two daughters were born - Nancy Lee and Bonnie Lynn. Since her conversion in 1962, Pastor Jackie has always been an emancipator. She realized that true freedom could only come through the emancipating Word of God. She was a strong believer in the integrity of God's word and the power of applying and appropriating God's promises through faith - putting action to His word. Pastor Jackie's life and ministry reflected the awesome power and authority of God, which was revealed through the changed lives of those who were touched by her ministry. As the Chaplain's Assistant at Veterans Administration Hospital, she zealously administered that life-giving word of deliverance and salvation. On elevators and at the bedsides of many who would have died without Christ, she faithfully co-labored with the Holy Spirit to "snatch" many from the jaws of Hell. In 1969, Pastor Jackie founded Full Gospel Emancipation Life Center (formerly known as Full Gospel Temple). She ministered under a powerful anointing to preach and teach with clarity and transparency the whole gospel for the whole man. Pastor Jackie leaves a legacy of love and faith to two devoted daughters - Nancy L. Norris and Bonnie L. Neilson; two granddaughters, Lori Chojnowski and Shelly Sypniewski; sons-in-law Rob Chojnowski, and Kevin Sypniewski; one grandson Justin Neilson (who preceded her in death), five great-grandchildren Ryan and Kelsie Chojnowski, and Nathan, Travis and Corinne Sypniewski; sister Jewell Buechler; brother Jim Carter and sister Thelma Carter; brother-in-law Marty Norris, and sister-in-law Mae Sarrow, who preceded her in death. Pastor Jackie leaves a host of church family members, knowing that they will continue her great works of her Lord and Savior.
