Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Victim named -- Police identified yesterday the man fatally shot about 8:20 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of Druid Hill Ave. as Jason Milton Allen, 25, of the 2600 block of Druid Hill Ave. Allen was shot in the upper body and the head and was pronounced dead 10 minutes later.

Shooting -- A man, 54, was shot in the right leg and the stomach during an attempted carjacking in the 800 block of Poplar Grove St. about 5:40 p.m. Monday. The victim was in his car outside a liquor store when two men, one with a handgun, attempted to take the vehicle. After the victim was shot, he drove to the 2800 block of Mosher St., where he was found by police and then was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. His condition was not available.

Burglary -- Between Dec. 20 and Monday, someone entered a house under renovation in the first block of Wheeler Ave. through a rear basement door and stole several cabinets, a countertop, two saws, carpeting, a work light, faucets and a sink. Total value of the property was nearly $2,100.

Cutting -- A boy, 16, was inside a delicatessen in the 2800 block of Woodbrook Ave. about 2 p.m. Monday when he saw a male friend involved in a fight outside. When the youth went to help his friend, someone struck him in the face and stabbed him in the left shoulder. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Robbery -- A girl, 17, was walking from a bus stop in the 500 block of Warwick Ave. about noon Monday when two men, one armed with a handgun that he pointed at her, robbed the girl of her cell phone and a wallet containing more than $100.

Robbery -- Shortly after a girl, 17, cashed a check at a store in the 1600 block of W. North Ave., she and her brother, 8, boarded a bus and got off moments later in the 2300 block of W. North Ave. There, she and her brother were waiting for another bus when a gunman robbed the girl of more than $100 before fleeing on foot.

Carjacking -- Police were seeking a man who forced a woman, 23, into the passenger side of her 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt in the parking lot of Mondawmin Mall about 11 a.m. Sunday while implying he was armed with a handgun and drove her to the 2000 block of Ruxton Ave., where he robbed her of a gold ring and forced her from the vehicle. The car has tags 4CM X54.


Burglary -- Cast-iron pipes, copper pipes and a furnace - all of unknown value - were stolen between Dec. 19 and Monday from a house in the 6300 block of Wallace Ave. by someone who entered through a rear basement window.

Stolen vehicle -- A four-door burgundy 1995 Cadillac with tags 8DB W57 was stolen Monday in the 3500 block of Howard Park Ave.

Burglary -- Police were seeking a man who broke into a Dollar Tree store in the 6600 block of Reisterstown Road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday and whose image was caught on a surveillance camera. No property was reported missing.

Baltimore County


Robbery -- A man, 24, was leaving a store in the 11600 block of Reisterstown Road about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was stopped by three apparently unarmed men who robbed him of his cell phone and more than $100.

White Marsh

Burglary -- A male resident of the 7400 block of Bradshaw Road was awakened about 3 a.m. Monday by a noise and observed a man leaving his house through a window. Entry was through an unlocked second floor window, and no property was reported stolen.


Burglary -- At least $400 in coins was stolen over the weekend from a house in the 12000 block of Stoney Batter Road by someone who entered through an unlocked rear window.


Armed robbery -- Police were seeking a man who entered the office of the Shell service station in the 1800 block of York Road about 7:30 p.m. Monday, went around the counter and removed an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register. The robber drove off in a gold four-door Saturn with unknown tags.

Robbery -- Shortly after a man entered Bowers & Snyder Opticians in the first block of W. Timonium Road about 2:45 p.m. Monday and asked about eyewear, he pulled out a handgun and ordered two employees down onto the floor. After robbing at least one employee of a wallet, the gunman removed an undisclosed sum of money from a cash register and fled on foot.


Robbery -- A woman, 57, was standing at a bus stop at Edmondson Avenue and Academy Road about 11 p.m. Monday when two males stole her purse containing cash and personal property - all valued at $36.

Robbery -- A man, 18, was walking in a woods off the 6000 block Baltimore National Pike about 1:30 p.m. Monday when he was assaulted by two males who robbed him of an iPod and a gift card - all valued at $240.
