Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Juan Hernandez, 19, was arrested early Tuesday in the 3600 block of Dudley Ave. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Hernandez, whose address was not available, is accused of shooting Estefany Gonzalez, 16, of the 5200 block of Eastern Ave. on March 30. Police said Gonzalez was found lying in the 6300 block of Toone St. in O'Donnell Heights about 11 p.m. and died a short time later at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Hernandez was being held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center.


Shooting -- A man, 26, was standing with friends in the 400 block of Mt. Holly St. about 1 a.m. Tuesday when two men got out of a car and told everyone not to move. When the victim fled, one of the men fired at least two shots, hitting the victim in the head and face. The gunman and his accomplice fled. Moments later, police found the victim lying in the lobby of an apartment building in the 3600 block of W. Franklin St. He was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.


Gunmen sought -- Police continue to seek two men, one of whom fired shots at police about 8 p.m. Tuesday during a foot pursuit in the 2200 block of Homewood Ave. near Hope Street. No injuries were reported.


Theft -- Maryland tags 654M874 were stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from a 4-door, 1995 Jeep Liberty parked in the 3700 block of St. Margaret St.

Larceny -- Between Nov. 7 and Tuesday, someone stole a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson semiautomatic handgun - serial number PAV7520 - from a house in the 2500 block of Lakeland Ave.

Stolen vehicle -- A 2002 Volkswagen Jetta with New Jersey tag WDF 76H was stolen between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of W. Lombard St.

Baltimore County


Burglary -- Tools, a generator, four space heaters and a power washer - all valued at $2,700 - were stolen between Dec. 7 and Monday from a shed in the 500 block of Hopkins Landing Road.


Burglary -- A laptop computer was stolen between noon and 6 p.m. from an apartment in the first block of Altura Court. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and that a key to the front door had been missing.


Burglary -- Two air conditioning units, air conditioning unit pads, coil and copper wires - all valued at nearly $2,900 - were stolen from a house under construction in the 4200 block of Hunsinger Court between Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. The incident was reported Monday.

Robbery -- A boy, 14, was walking in the 100 block of Tollgate Road about 2 p.m. Monday when an older male robbed the youth of $20 while implying he was armed with a handgun.

Robbery -- Police and the FBI were seeking a tall man weighing more than 200 pounds and wearing an olive drab jacket and a red baseball cap who robbed Northwest Savings Bank in the 9600 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 12:40 p.m. Tuesday. Police said no weapon was displayed or implied. Anyone with information is asked to call the precinct at 410-887-6975 or the FBI at 410-265-8080.

Burglary -- Video games of unknown value were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 14900 block of Old Hanover Road.

Stolen vehicle -- A red, 2004 Pontiac Aztec sport utility vehicle with tags A041849 was stolen Tuesday in the 200 block of Midpines Court.


Attempted robbery -- A woman, 37, was walking along Kenmar Road near Peach Bottom Lane about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man asked her for the time. Before the woman could respond, the man pulled out a handgun and tried to steal her purse. Failing that, the man fled.
