Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Arrest -- A man charged in a warrant with attempted murder in a shooting June 25 on a street in O'Donnell Heights was arrested about 4 p.m. yesterday at a homeless shelter in Griffin, Ga., by Spaulding County police and U.S marshals. Detective Kevin Buie of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force said Joshua Kahn Leslie, 31, formerly of the 1000 block of N. Appleton St., was being held in the Spaulding County jail pending an extradition hearing. Buie said Leslie is accused of shooting Miguel Ayala, 24, in the back during an exchange of gunfire in the 1300 block of Ballard Way. Buie said Leslie also is charged in a federal warrant with possession of a sawed-off shotgun while on probation.

Shooting -- A district police officer was on foot patrol near the Northwood Shopping Center about 9:25 a.m. yesterday when he was approached by three young males, one of whom had been shot in lower back. The victim, 17, was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital and was reported in good condition. His friends told police they were walking in the 1600 block of Argonne Drive a short time earlier when a gunman demanded money. When the trio began to flee, the gunman shot one of them in the back.
