William Carter Jr., a construction worker, died Nov. 22 in a motorcycle accident on Park Heights Avenue. The Woodlawn resident was 47.

Born in Baltimore and raised on Mount Street, he was a 1978 graduate of Northwestern High School, where he played baseball.

For many years, Mr. Carter worked in concrete construction and recently in asbestos removal.

Mr. Carter enjoyed sports, especially tenpin bowling and summer baseball leagues. He played softball for the Jolly Jacks in Druid Hill Park.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Christian Life Church, 6605 Liberty Road, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, the former Angela Peterkin, a physical therapist; two sons Eric Morton and Alexis Carter; four daughters Kelly Morton, Sharesma Carter, Tiffini Carter and Imani Carter; his mother, Almetta Cooper; his stepfather, Henry Cooper, all of whom reside in Baltimore; a sister, Terry Watkins of Bensalem, Pa.; a stepsister, Cindi Lee of Baltimore; and two granddaughters. A son, Alex Carter, died in 1982.
