Sluggish starts on offense

With the Ravens' defense holding LaDainian Tomlinson in check (4 yards on five carries) and the offense getting off to its typically sluggish start, there was no scoring. The quarter ended with the Chargers threatening with a first down at the Ravens' 16-yard line.

Ravens score, Chargers roar

The Ravens took a 7-3 lead, but the Chargers scored 19 unanswered points, helped by Matt Stover's botched kickoff and fumbles by Kyle Boller and Mike Anderson.

The Chargers widened their 22-7 halftime lead with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers to tight end Antonio Gates - his second of the game. The Ravens come right back, scoring on a 13-yard pass from Boller to rookie fullback Le'Ron McClain.

Playing out the rout

A 41-yard field goal by Nate Kaeding -- his fourth of the game -- pushed the Chargers in front 32-14 midway through the fourth quarter. The Ravens had two more possessions but couldn't score.
