Quarterback Chris Turner has responded to his brief benching last week with a solid week of practice. Senior guard Andrew Crummey has practiced sporadically this week and might play today despite a fractured fibula. N.C. The Wolfpack defense surrenders an average of 4.5 points in the third quarter of games. N.C. State's secondary has seven interceptions in the past four games.

Junior linebacker Erin Henderson (knee, back) and senior strong safety Christian Varner (leg) are expected to play today. Junior linebacker Dave Philistin has at least 10 tackles in each of Maryland's past seven games. The Wolfpack's Darrell Blackman is sixth in the ACC in kickoff return average (24.0 yards), while his return partner, Donald Bowens, is averaging 24 yards a return the past five games, as teams have been kicking away from Blackman.
