Mr. ANDREW ROW SMITH, SR., 72, of Linthicum, MD, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 50 years, Norma Linton Smith. Born January 23, 1935 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roy and Carrie Row Smith. He was a life long resident of the Baltimore area. Mr. Smith served his country in U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, serving in an engineer battalion in Munich, Germany for sometime. Upon leaving active service, Mr. Smith was a carpenter by trade and a master at his craft. he retired from his final position with the Department of Defense in 1999, after 14 years of service. He continued to practice his craft after his retirement, helping his family and many in his local community with improvement projects and furniture restoration. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their significant others, Patricia Haynes and husband Michael, Elizabeth Kisser and Richard Parker, Carol Patrick and Robert Polm, Andrew Row Smith, Jr., and wife Maureen. Mr. Smith is also survived by five grandchildren and significant others, as well as three great-grandchildren, Michael Haynes and wife Sara, Katie Haynes and fiancee Michael Birmingham, Charles Patrick and Ricky Duncan, Denny Patrick and Jennifer Shifflet, Steven Parker, Carolene Haynes, Carter Haynes and Lily Patrick. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Alberta Smith as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was predeceased by his two brothers, Clarence Smith (1944) and Roy Elden Smith (2007). Friends may call at the LOUDON PARK FUNERAL HOME, 3620 Wilkens on Wednesday, November 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, November 23 at the funeral home. Interment Loudon Park Cemetery.
