88th Turkey Bowl

Matchup -- No. 3 Loyola (8-1) vs. Calvert Hall (5-5)

Time -- 10 a.m.

Where -- M&T Bank Stadium

TV/radio -- Ch. 2, 1300 AM

Series -- Loyola leads, 46-33-8

Outlook -- Loyola has won four straight and 18 of the past 22 meetings to take ownership of this venerable series, which predates the NFL. A win today would give the Dons (3-1 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) a share of the conference title with Mount St. Joseph, the only team to beat them this season. Dons quarterback Leon Kinnard, who ran for three first-half touchdowns in last year's 26-0 rout, has passed for 1,314 yards, run for 425 and scored 19 touchdowns this season, and running back Terence Garvin has averaged 6 yards a carry and scored 15 touchdowns. Calvert Hall (1-3) has improved markedly since last season, entering today's game after consecutive lopsided wins over Pallotti and Randallstown. The Cardinals have averaged 26 points in their five wins but will be facing a Loyola defense that has allowed an average of a little more than nine points a game. Running backs Kevin Graves and Dan Zentz have combined for 1,427 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead Calvert Hall.
