Dr. Jeffrey P. Sternlicht has been named chairman of emergency medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Sternlicht, an emergency medicine physician, has practiced at GBMC since 1998 and also is the hospital's primary disaster physician. He served as clinical director of emergency medicine before his promotion.

Dr. Zeng-Jin Yang, research fellow at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, has been named the winner of the first American Heart Association-Philips Resuscitation Fellowship award. The fellowship provides $100,000 to help fund research in the field of resuscitation.

Diane Boulay has joined St. Joseph Medical Center as the director of managed care. Boulay is a graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland; she earned a master's degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts. Previously, she worked at LifeBridge Health.

Dr. Thomas Vento has joined the staff of Maryland Family Care at Mercy Medical Center.

Laura Burhans, R.N., is the new director of cardiology services at The Heart Institute of St. Joseph Medical Center.

Keith Poisson has been named chief operating officer and executive vice president of Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Poisson is responsible for oversight of patient care and support services.
