Sports bar stabbing being investigated

The Harford County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the stabbing early Saturday of an unidentified man inside an Edgewood sports bar.

Sgt. Christine Presberry, a sheriff's office spokeswoman, said deputies responding to a report of a stabbing at the Edge Sports Bar and Grill in the 2200 block of Hanson Road about 1:30 a.m. found the victim lying on the floor and bleeding from multiple stab wounds to the upper body.

Presberry said the man, believed to be in his early 20s, was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was reported in serious condition.

Presberry said deputies were unable to locate any witnesses or determine a motive for the stabbing. She said the bar was crowded at the time.

Man dies in Taser incident

The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a man died after a deputy used a Taser to break up a fight early yesterday.

It happened around 5 a.m. yesterday in the 7000 block of Gresham Court East in Frederick.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey says the first deputy on the scene found four people fighting. When the deputy used a Taser on a 20-year-old man, the man fell to the ground unconscious, Bailey said.

The man, identified by a relative as Jarrel Gray, was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Bailey says the Frederick Police Department is helping the sheriff's office with the investigation. The deputy, whose name was not released, has been placed on administrative leave with pay.
