November 17, 2007

Baltimore's Department of Transportation is warning motorists of several street closures in the city because of construction:

Hanover Street between Ostend and Montgomery streets will be closed until Dec. 21 so public works crews can replace a 10-inch water main. People who live and work in the area will have access.

Southbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured onto Charles Street, west onto Ostend Street and back to Hanover. Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured east onto Ostend Street, north onto Charles Street and onto Montgomery. Also, Hughes Street will be closed at Charles.

Monument Street between Broadway and Rutland Avenue will be closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for a construction crane. Motorists heading west on Monument Street will be detoured south onto Broadway, onto Orleans Street, north onto Washington Street and back to Monument.

A single block of Lexington Street between Charles and St. Paul streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for roadwork.

Parts of East Lombard Street between Albemarle and President streets in Little Italy will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for roadwork. One lane will be open.

Eutaw Street between Centre and Franklin streets will have lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for paving. One lane in each direction will remain open.
