November 16, 2007|By RICHARD IRWIN

Two men were shot early yesterday - one of them fatally - in a townhouse on McClean Boulevard near the county line in Northeast Baltimore, police said.

The death brought to 261 the number of city homicides this year, compared with 237 at the same time last year, said Agent Donny Moses, the spokesman. The names were withheld pending notification of family.

Northeastern District police responding to a report of two men being shot in the 7100 block of McClean Blvd. about 2:30 a.m. found one man, 27, lying in a room and bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head, Moses said. That man died shortly before 6 a.m. at Sinai Hospital, said Moses.

In another room, police found the second victim, 18, who had been shot in the upper back. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was treated and released, the spokesman said.
