DENTON, Texas -- Navy accepted a bid to the Poinsettia Bowl yesterday, which means the Midshipmen will play in a bowl for a school-record fifth straight season. It took a historic effort Saturday for Navy to become bowl-eligible.

The Mids needed almost every one of their 74 points as they gave up 62 at North Texas. Those were the most Navy had allowed since a 65-19 loss to North Carolina State on Sept. 7, 2002.
