DON'T MISS

November 11, 2007

Have A Brandywine Christmas beginning the day after Thanksgiving at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pa. The celebration includes displays of an O-gauge model-train setup, a Victorian dollhouse and holiday trees, as well as an exhibit of Jerry Pinkney's watercolor illustrations titled Jerry Pinkney: Aesop's Fables and Other Tales. His art gives life to such fables as The Tortoise and the Hare and The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. Returning to the celebration is Ann Wyeth McCoy's collection of dolls dressed in children's, antique and costume clothing. The train display includes a new edition, the California Zephyr. All trains go along 2,000 feet of track around a village setting. Santa and his sleigh can be found nearby. The event runs from Nov. 23-Jan. 6 at the museum on U.S. Route 1. Regular museum hours are 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily, except Christmas Day. Admission: adults $8; seniors and children ages 6-12 $5; children younger than 6 and members free.
