Playing in the final game of his career, senior Richard Hill needed just 14 seconds to put the Blue Jays (4-6 overall, 3-5 in the Centennial Conference) ahead for good as he returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown as visiting Johns Hopkins rolled to a 31-3 victory over the McDaniel Green Terror (1-9, 1-7) yesterday.

The win was the seventh straight for the Blue Jays against their longtime rivals. It was the 86th game between the teams.

Andrew Kase's 227 rushing yards rank as the fourth-best single-game total in school history and mark his sixth 100-yard game of the season, which ties the school record for most 100-yard games in a season.

In addition, his effort improved his season rushing total to 1,009 yards, which ranks as the second-highest total in Johns Hopkins history.

Max Islinger made the first start of his career and was 8-for-20 for 118 yards with the one touchdown and one interception. Corey Sattler was his favorite target as he totaled 101 yards on six receptions.

The Blue Jays' defense held McDaniel to 193 yards of total offense, including 52 on the ground.

Seniors Dan Requena, Ryan Johnstin and Adam Winter had interceptions, and classmate Zach Rosswog added a team-high eight tackles.

For McDaniel, Tom Wenrich was 22-for-49 for 141 yards with the three interceptions and Eric Zwilsky rushed six times for a team-high 41 yards.

Bryan Letourneau made a game-high 15 tackles to lead the way defensively for the Green Terror.
