In this era of e-mails and instant messaging, it's nice to know that there's still a place for a note written on fine stationery. Paper in the Park, run by sisters Susan Hill and Katharine Sodergreen, offers a wide selection of paper products to meet that need.

The store, which opened in August, specializes in custom-designed stationery, including invitations, announcements and note cards. Hill, who has a background in marketing, and Sodergreen, a graphics artist, help customers create the look they are seeking.

Envelopes and paper in a wide range of hues line one wall of the shop. To those cards can be added embellishments such as ribbons and strips of decorative paper. Printing is available as well. Prices start at about $1.05 each for personalized note cards.

The store also stocks journals, calendars, wrapping paper, greetings cards, address books and pens. Classes are offered in paper crafts and Christmas card design.

"We dabble in all things paper," Hill says.
