Woman robbed at Annapolis Plaza

man tore the purse away from a 79-year-old woman shopping at Annapolis Plaza, Anne Arundel County police said.

The woman, who lives on the 900 block of Perry Landing Court in Annapolis, told police she was approached from behind about 1 p.m. Tuesday as she attempted to get into her vehicle. She said the man pushed her with one arm and grabbed her purse with his other, pulling it away from her. He fled in a black Dodge Stratus, partial Maryland tag of 628.

The robber was described as about 6 feet tall, in his late teens or early 20s, with short dreadlocks and wearing dark clothing.

Hanover Wachovia Bank robbed

A Hanover bank was robbed Tuesday, Anne Arundel County police said.

Employees of the Wachovia Bank at 7568 Ridge Road told police that a man entered about 2 p.m. and handed a teller a note announcing a robbery. She gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled, possibly in a white pickup truck. No weapon was displayed or implied.

The robber was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 25 to 30 years old and wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.
