It looks like the AST Dew Tour will be coming back to Baltimore next year, despite a number of kinks that still need to be ironed out.

Both the AST Dew Tour and the Maryland Stadium Authority would not make it official yesterday, but David A. Raith, the acting executive director of the Maryland Stadium Authority, was quoted in The Daily Record as saying a deal was in place for the action sports event to return to Camden Yards on June 19-22.

Raith did not return calls from The Sun seeking comment. Frederick W. Puddester, the MSA chairman, would not confirm the tour's return.

"We'd love to have them back," Puddester said. "It was a great event for Camden Yards with great crowds and a great television audience. But we're not ready to announce anything yet."

BJ Carretta, the AST Dew Tour's director of marketing, said that no agreement had been finalized.

"We have every intention of making Baltimore a long time host for the AST Dew Tour, however at this time we cannot confirm our return in 2008 as we are still working though some logistical issues," Carretta said in an e-mail.

According to The Daily Record, the remaining issue is a potential conflict with an Orioles home game in the days leading up to the event.
