CROSS COUNTRY

Class 3A East, Class 2A South championships

WHEN -- Tomorrow, 4 p.m.

WHERE -- Centennial

OUTLOOK -- The Wilde Lake boys team, which captured its third straight county title last week, and the two-time county champion Howard girls team will be featured in the Class 3A East race. In the Class 2A South race, River Hill will look for a sweep with a deep boys team and county indivdual champion Katie Harman anchoring the girls.

FOOTBALL

No. 12 Howard @Long Reach

WHEN -- Friday, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- Howard (7-1) locked up a playoff berth in the Class 3A East region with Saturday's 21-14 come-from-behind victory over Wilde Lake. The Lions will try to keep rolling with a visit to Long Reach, which has won every meeting between the teams since the school opened 11 years ago. Last season, the Lightning (3-4) came away with a 13-7 win.

FOOTBALL

Oakland Mills @No. 14 Wilde Lake

WHEN -- Friday, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- The host Wildecats (6-2) remain in the hunt for a Class 3A East region title berth, looking to recover after their 21-14 loss at Howard on Saturday. The Wildecats will try to control the clock with their dominating running game, while the Scorpions counter with a potent passing game led by senior quarterback Justin Sottilaire.
