Games To Watch

County tournament

WHEN -- Tuesday, 3 p.m.

WHERE -- North Harford

OUTLOOK -- Bel Air is the defending county champion, although C. Milton Wright comes in as the top seed. The Mustangs won their first regular-season county title this season, ending a 15-year drought. But Bel Air is always lurking in the background, having won the county title five times since the mid-1990s.

Harford Tech @ Joppatowne

WHEN -- Friday, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- A win for Joppatowne would secure at least a tie for the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Chesapeake Division title and likely keep the Mariners in the top spot in Class 1A East. Joppatowne has played solidly on both sides of the ball since a poor effort in its season-opening 32-17 loss at North Carroll. Harford Tech has struggled lately, including suffering a 54-6 loss to Elkton on Oct. 19.

Bel Air @ North Harford

WHEN -- Friday, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- North Harford needs to keep winning to hold on to a first- or second-place spot in Class 3A East. QB Dan Griffin has played well this season, while the Hawks' big line has controlled things on both sides of the ball. Bel Air (3-4) has shown improvement over last season's 3-7 team, and the Hawks cannot look past them.
