THE ISSUE: -- County officials have announced details of their Healthy Howard Plan, in which they intend to help uninsured residents gain access to low-cost health care. What do you think of the plan?

Put health plan to a public vote

Not a good idea. Going by recent articles, the fiscal liability down the road for providing health insurance for the uninsured is unknown. This issue should go to public referendum with a good explanation about the projected costs over three to five years and beyond, the sources of funding, etc.
