No. 1 River Hill @ Marriotts Ridge

WHEN -- Friday, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- The visiting Hawks took over the No. 1 spot in The Sun's Top 15 poll last week with a 41-0 win over Atholton. Senior Zach Martin ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns, and junior Mike Campanaro accounted for 169 total yards and two more touchdowns. The Hawks (7-0) have shut out six opponents and yielded six points all season. Marriotts Ridge, led by senior quarterback Kevin Seker, comes into the game with a 4-2 record after going 1-9 in its first varsity season last year.

No. 10 Wilde Lake @ Howard

WHEN -- Saturday, 2 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- The two teams share 6-1 records and are jockeying for position in the Class 3A East region. The host Lions, who were 2-8 last season, are one of the surprise teams in the county, led by quarterback Jeff Kalski and wide receiver Jeff Javier. The Lions' defense will have to contend with the Wildecats' overpowering running game, led by Ashton Hayes and Jerrell Epps. The two backs have combined to rush for 1,397 yards and 17 touchdowns.


Centennial @ River Hill

WHEN -- Friday, 7:15 p.m.

OUTLOOK -- In the final game of the regular season, a spot in Tuesday's county championship game could be on the line when the Hawks host the Eagles. Reservoir, which was undefeated going into the week, had assured itself of an invitation.
