On October 18, 2007; SHIRLEY BURNS WHEAT (nee Cochran) of Bel Air, MD; beloved wife of Gene Wheat, died suddenly. She was 72 and was a lifelong Harford County resident. Shirley was the daughter of the late Edna Burns and Clyde Cochran of Fallston, MD. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Sharon Levin (and husband Emanuel),of Owings Mills, MD., Cheryl Gregson,of Miami, FL, and Leslie Spencer ( and husband Jody), of Monticello, FL. Shirley is also survived by her sister, Ruth Ann Bennett(and husband Harold),of Ady, MD, her brothers, Gene Cochran,(and wife Maxine), of Bel Air, and James Cochran, also of Bel Air, MD.. In addition to her children and siblings, Shirley is survived by her cherished grandchildren; Allison Levin, Hannah Levin, Alex Gregson, Jessica Winters (and husband Joseph), Loring Spencer, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Shirley was an avid gardener and homemaker, and enjoyed time spent with her family, friends and her beloved pets, her dog Lulu, and cat, Jamie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Cochran, her sister, Mary Lou Mitchell, and her grandson, Ryan Slusarski. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Evans Funeral Chapel, 3 Newport Dr., Forest Hill, MD, at which location services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Immediately after the service, family will receive friends at 900 Milroy Terrace, Bel Air, MD.
