Ravens Weekend

October 19, 2007|By MIKE PRESTON

KYLE BOLLER RAVENS QB HT: 6-3 WT: 220 YEAR: 5

DONTE WHITNER BILLS S HT: 5-10 WT: 208 YEAR: 2

Whitner is excellent. He can play anywhere on the field and still have a presence. He is extremely talented and physical. He can play the run just as well as the pass and might bait Boller into a couple of interceptions. Boller's job is simple: He needs to manage the game and limit turnovers. If he doesn't, the Bills could make this a real game. EDGE: EVEN

TERRELL SUGGS RAVENS LB HT: 6-3 WT: 260 YEAR: 5

JASON PETERS BILLS OT HT: 6-4 WT: 340 YEAR: 4

Peters is a budding talent who is starting to come into his own. He is a superior athlete, having made the transition from tight end in college to left tackle in the NFL. He is physical, nasty and has good quickness. These kinds of players give Suggs problems. Suggs has only one sack, but offensive coordinators are always aware of his presence. Suggs might be able to speed-rush Peters coming off the edge. EDGE: SUGGS

JARED GAITHER RAVENS OT HT: 6-9 WT: 350 YEAR: R

AARON SCHOBEL BILLS DE HT: 6-4 WT: 243 YEAR: 7

Schobel is a high-energy pass rusher in the mold of former Ravens defensive end Michael McCrary. He is athletic and has a nonstop motor. He is relentless as a pass rusher and solid against the run. Gaither has potential. He is physical and can hold his own against the run. But Gaither will have problems against speed rushers like Schobel because he needs to improve his foot speed. EDGE: SCHOBEL
