Roadwork to affect parking in Southeast

There will be no parking on either side of Eastern Avenue between Ponca and South Macon streets in Southeast Baltimore from today to Dec. 17, the city Transportation Department has announced. Crews will be working on conduit installation and road repairs. The road will remain open to traffic during the work period, but drivers should expect delays.

Plane in no-fly zone is forced to land

State police say a small plane was forced to land in Carroll County yesterday after it entered into a no-fly zone.

State police say the plane was forced to land at Carroll County Regional Airport about 11:30 a.m., shortly after President Bush spoke at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg. Whether the forced landing was related to the president's visit was unclear.

Children discover human remains

Frederick police are seeking information about a set of human remains found on the city's east side. Sgt. Bruce DeGrange says police are treating the death as a homicide.

Children playing in a wooded area in the Fredericktown Village Park subdivision found the decomposed remains, he said.

The remains have been tentatively identified as those of 23-year-old Jeremiah Gossage of the 400 block of W. South St.
