Maryland offense vs. Georgia Tech defense -- Yellow Jackets linebacker Philip Wheeler ranks among the league leaders in sacks (4 1/2 ), fumbles recovered (two) and passes defended (four). Maryland has rushed for 14 touchdowns this season, but the Tech defense is holding its opponents to 64.6 rushing yards per game and ranks sixth nationally in rushing defense. Maryland running back Keon Lattimore is second in the ACC and 28th nationally in rushing with 106.6 yards per game. Georgia Tech is third in the country in sacks (4.2 per game) and tackles for loss (10.4 per game). The Terps' starting quarterback for today remains a mystery, but as of Wednesday Jordan Steffy had not been cleared medically.

Maryland defense vs. Georgia Tech offense -- Maryland linebacker Erin Henderson, who has led the team in tackles each game this season, still is questionable for today's game with a knee injury. The Terps are second in the ACC in pass defense at 176.2 yards per game, but the Yellow Jackets have had more success with their rushing offense. They lead the league with 204.2 rushing yards per game - the only team ahead of Maryland in that category. Senior running back Tashard Choice ranks third in the ACC in rushing yards behind Lattimore with 100.2 yards per game. Georgia Tech's problem is on third downs, where it has been successful on just 16 of 68 attempts (23.5 percent). It also has the worst pass offense in the league and is last in pass efficiency.
