What it's about -- A boy learns he's the last in a long line of immortal warriors and that he's needed for the coming conflict with the forces of darkness.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Based on the Susan Cooper novels and full of movie magic, fantasy, nonviolent violence and starring good-looking leads.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- Even an "invisible" child is capable of great deeds and sacrifice.

Violence -- Vikings pillage; scary beings do scary things.

Language -- Disney clean.

Sex -- Teen flirting.

Drugs -- None.

Parents' advisory -- A dazzling 8-and-older appropriate fantasy from the folks who made The Chronicles of Narnia.

Into the Wild

Rating -- R

What it's about -- A young man graduates from college but leaves his planned future and his sheltered life behind by heading off into the wilderness to find himself and prove himself.

The Kid Attractor Factor -- Emile Hirsch takes the classic American young man's journey. Kristen Stewart is also in the cast.

Good lessons/bad lessons -- If you're deadset on going out and testing yourself, don't be shocked if you fail.

Violence -- Animals are hunted; a beating is delivered.

Language -- Some profanity.

Sex -- Fairly chaste, some nudity of the skinny-dipping variety.

Drugs -- Hippies are met on the road; good ol' boys have a few beers.

Parents' advisory -- Entirely appropriate for 15-and-older, despite the R rating.
