Man, 24 fatally shot in West Baltimore

A 24-year-old West Baltimore man died yesterday after being shot multiple times, making him the 231st homicide in the city this year, police said.

About 2:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of N. Fremont Ave. When police officers arrived, they found Jason Fortune of the 3000 block of Rosedale Court.

Fortune, who had been shot multiple times in the upper torso, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m., police said. The police have no suspects and know of no motive in the killing.
