IWIF gets bikes for Arc clients

September 23, 2007

The Special Investigations Unit of the Injured Workers' Insurance Fund (IWIF) recently raised more than $1,400 to purchase and assemble 17 bikes and helmets for adults and children receiving services at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region.

Lesley Tompkins, senior fraud examiner, said the IWIF partnered with some of its vendors who donated money and time to purchase and assemble the bikes. Tompkins has two brothers who receive services at The Arc.

Melissa Mather, family services coordinator at The Arc, said that children who received bikes "were thrilled and spent every day riding their new bikes until school started."
