Love a fair? The lowdown -- Today through Sunday, the St. Mary's County Fair comes to the St. Mary's County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown. Livestock will be on display, as will 4-H exhibits. There will also be contests, vendors and food.

If you go -- The fair is 3 p.m.-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. The address is 42455 Fairgrounds Road in Leonardtown. For more information, call 301-475-8434.

Fun in the sun

The lowdown -- A number of bands and other performers come to Ocean City's inlet parking lot this weekend for Sunfest. The list of performers includes the Fabulous Hubcaps, Josh Gracin, Wayne Newton, Zim Zemarel Orchestra and Randy Lee Ashcraft & the Saltwater Cowboys.

Calvert calls

The lowdown -- Fair season continues in the state with the Calvert County Fair. Starting Wednesday, it features livestock, produce and 4-H exhibitions; the Miss Tranquility contest; baby and tot contests; autograph signings; tractor pulls; and other family-friendly events.

If you go -- The fair is 4 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Sept. 28-29 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sept. 30. Admission is $5 for those 12 and older and free for kids 11 and younger. The fairgrounds are at 140 Calvert Fair Drive in Barstow.
