Police seek man in robbery and an attempted robbery

September 19, 2007

Howard County police are asking for the public's help in finding the man they believe to be responsible for the robbery of a food chain and an attempted robbery of a bank.

The first incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Subway restaurant on U.S. 1 near Montgomery Road in Elkridge. A man entered the store, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

The second incident occurred at 1 p.m. Friday at the BB&T Bank branch at U.S. 1 and Montgomery Road. A man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. The teller stalled while other employees contacted police, and the man left without obtaining any money.

The man did not display a weapon, nor did he imply that he had a weapon in either case.

The man is described as being in his 40s, 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall, of average to thin build and with short dark hair, pock marks on his face and wearing prescription glasses.

Anyone with information should call police at 410-313-3200. Callers may remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a reward.
