Today's TV games

September 16, 2007|By CHICAGO TRIBUNE

Bills (0-1) @ Steelers (1-0)

Time -- 1 p.m., chs. 13, 9.

Line -- Steelers by 10.

Key stat -- The Steelers have won five of their past six home openers.

Fantasy factor -- Bills WR Lee Evans, who has seven career 100-yard games, could have a big day. Steelers WR Santonio Holmes should find room against an injury-depleted secondary.

The buzz -- Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger got the Mike Tomlin era off to a great start with four TD passes. The Steelers shouldn't have any problem holding serve at home.

Packers (1-0) @ Giants (0-1)

Time, TV -- 1 p.m., chs. 45, 5.

Line -- Giants by 2 1/2 .

Key stat -- The Packers have an NFL-best 48 wins in road openers.

Fantasy factor -- Packers QB Brett Favre should make some big plays against a defense that didn't put up much of fight in its opener against Dallas. Giants QB Eli Manning threw four TD passes in the opener but has sore shoulder.

The buzz -- The Packers' problems on offense are the overriding factors here, and the Giants should be able to score enough as long as Manning is OK.

Chargers (1-0) @ Patriots (1-0)

Time -- 8:15 p.m., chs. 11, 4.

Line -- The Patriots by 3 1/2 .

Key stat -- Patriots have won 10 of the past 12 meetings with the Chargers.

Fantasy factor -- Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has averaged 137 yards per game and rushed for seven TDs in his past four games against New England. Patriots WR Randy Moss opened with a nine-catch, 183-yard game and is second only to QB Tom Brady as the Patriot to stop.

The buzz -- For the second week in a row, the Chargers draw one of the NFL's best. But a trip to New England is tougher than a home game against the Bears, and it will take a huge defensive effort for San Diego to prevail.
