Sarah Cole scored the game-winning goal for No. 2 Bryn Mawr on a breakaway in a 2-1 field hockey victory over No. 7 Spalding yesterday.

The host Mawrtians put heavy pressure on Cavaliers goalie Ciarra Delost, firing nine shots at her. Delost held up well, saving seven, but she allowed one more goal than her counterpart, Abby Bisbee, who saw only three shots and allowed a goal to Kaitlyn May.

Spalding fell to 1-2.

Despite starting the season 3-0 and being ranked No. 2, Bryn Mawr has had its share of struggles, coach Jeanette Budzick says.

"It's been challenging for us. We've been rebuilding our defense. We've been trying to work out the kinks and we're taking it one game at a time," Budzick said.
