Early fumbles costly


Quarter by quarterThe Ravens found themselves in an early hole thanks to three fumbles, two by quarterback Steve McNair. The Ravens dodged one bullet when kicker Shayne Graham's 53-yard field-goal attempt was short, but the Bengals converted the other two turnovers into a touchdown catch by Chad Johnson and a field goal by Graham.

88-yard drive turns tide

The game's tide turned a bit when the Ravens marched 88 yards on eight plays, capped by running back Musa Smith's 6-yard touchdown run. McNair completed all three of his passes on the drive for 46 yards. Graham and Ravens kicker Matt Stover traded field goals.

Fumble returned for TD

The Ravens did themselves in again with another fumble. McNair's third turnover, which was returned by Bengals linebacker Landon Johnson 34 yards for a touchdown with 8:47 left, restored the Bengals' nine-point cushion. The Ravens' defense, meanwhile, snuffed out two Cincinnati possessions.

More turnovers doom Ravens

The Ravens opened the quarter with 10 unanswered points, but McNair's fourth turnover - an interception by defensive end Robert Geathers - led to a Bengals touchdown. The Ravens' final drive ended with Kyle Boller getting picked off at the goal line.
