Editor's note: An obituary published in yesterday's editions of The Sun for Ronald Edward Nodine and Charlotte R. Nodine incorrectly stated his name. Also, an incorrect year was given for Mrs. Nodine's graduation from Parkville High School, and the name of a surviving sister was inadvertently omitted.

A corrected version is published in today's obituary section.

The Sun regrets the errors and omissions.

Ronald Edward Nodine and Charlotte R. Nodine, who owned construction companies in Baltimore and New Orleans, were killed Sept. 1 in an automobile accident near Salisbury.

Mr. Nodine was 53, and his wife was 52.

The couple, who were returning to their Parkville home after a weeklong vacation in Ocean City, died after the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee that Mr. Nodine was driving left the road at U.S. 50 and Route 54, overturned and struck a tree. The accident remains under investigation, Maryland State Police said yesterday.

Ronald Nodine and Charlotte Railey were born in Baltimore and raised in Parkville. The two were attending Parkville High School when they met and fell in love. She graduated from Parkville High School in 1972. Mr. Nodine worked in construction and home remodeling until 1974, when he and his future wife moved to New Orleans. They were married in 1984.

In 1991, they returned to Parkville and established American Renovator Inc., with Mr. Nodine handling the site work while his wife was business and office manager.

After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, they returned to New Orleans and founded Bayou City Builders to help in the reconstruction of homes destroyed by the storm.

Mrs. Nodine was an avid gardener and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Her husband enjoyed participating in fishing tournaments.

A memorial service was held yesterday evening at Grace Community Church in Kingsville.

Surviving are a son, Rory Edward Nodine of Parkville; a daughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Nodine of Parkville; and a grandson.

Mr. Nodine is also survived by his father, Earl Nodine of Parkville; his mother, Patricia Marsh of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Jeffrey Nodine of Parkville and Gary Nodine of Hanover, Pa.; and two sisters, Jean Knepper of White Marsh and Debbie Rathell of Baltimore.

Mrs. Nodine is survived by her mother, Charlotte Railey of Parkville; two brothers, Carl Railey of Burtonsville and John Railey of Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister, Anne Railey Elrays of Bowleys Quarters.
