Ineligible Terps QB is not planning to transfer, mom says

College Park -- Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen has a history of giving his players second and even third chances to redeem themselves from poor decisions in the classroom or off the field, but eventually, he said, "I stop giving chances."

Reserve quarterback Josh Portis hasn't crossed that threshold, but his first mistake was big enough - or at least the university thought so - to cost him the 2007 season.
