Man charged in fatal shooting arrested in Ohio

September 07, 2007

A Dundalk man charged by Baltimore County police in the fatal shooting of another man whose body was found in a pile of trash in Rosedale several days ago has been arrested in Ohio.

Held at an undisclosed location and awaiting an extradition hearing is Kenneth James Beauchamp, 57, whose last known address was in the 1900 block of Dundalk Ave., police said.

Beauchamp is charged in the fatal shooting of Patrick Carroll Pearce III, 41, of Rosedale, whose body was found Aug. 30 by a couple rummaging through a trash dump in the 600 block of Todds Lane.

It is not known when Pearce was shot or why, police said.

Police said Beauchamp was arrested Tuesday in Ohio by authorities acting on the Baltimore County warrant charging him with first-degree murder and related offenses.

After Beauchamp's arrest, county detectives went to Ohio and interviewed him in connection with Pearce's death. They were expected to accompany him back to Maryland after the extradition hearing.
