Comic-Con

The lowdown -- This weekend, the Baltimore Comic-Con returns to the Baltimore Convention Center. The two-day event features retailers hawking comics and merchandise, plus speakers and tons of comic fans. Guest speakers and panelists include Sergio Aragones, Frank Cho, Dick Ayers and Jim Lee.

Laughs at the Ottobar

The lowdown -- Avant-garde comedian Neil Hamburger brings his oddball comedy to the Ottobar's upstairs lounge tonight. Hamburger -- also known as Amarillo Records founder Gregg Turkington -- dishes a deliberately mopey standup shtick. Comedy music group Pleaseeasaur opens.

Local sounds

The lowdown -- Check out some local hip-hop tonight at Sonar. Ull Neva Know, Cezar, Big Cee and Complex, By Any Means and Lockjaw Lullaby will perform on the venue's club stage.
