DuPont honors Crosby Marketing

The DuPont Co. has honored Crosby Marketing Communications for providing services and results that contributed to growing DuPont's business in 2006.

Crosby was recognized for marketing communications created for DuPont Legal.

Doctor joins medical center

Dr. Thomas D. Lee has joined the staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center as a member of the ENTAA Care, which offers ear, nose, throat, asthma, allergy and audiology services.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of the University of Miami. He lives in Columbia.

Word-of-mouth to be discussed

The Gambrills Thursday Morning B chapter of Business Network International Inc. will host a visitors day to discuss the impact that word-of-mouth marketing has on local businesses' bottom line.

BankAnnapolis names executive

BankAnnapolis has named Kathryn Coursey as vice president in its Private Business Banking Group.

Coursey will focus on helping small-business owners and entrepreneurs manage and grow their companies with resources available at BankAnnapolis.

New manager at Health Department

Michelle Emerson, R.N., B.S.N., is the new manager of the Communicable Diseases Program for the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.

She will supervise programs that focus on the prevention and control of diseases, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis and rabies.

She has worked with the department since 2003. She resides in Annapolis.

Maritime Museum benefit Sept. 15

The Boatyard Bar and Grill will host its annual Boatyard Beach Party to benefit the Annapolis Maritime Museum from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 15 on the museum's beach, 723 Second St., Eastport.

Last year's beach party raised $50,000 to help rebuild the McNasby building at the museum. Tickets are $50.

Executive training hosted at AACC

Anne Arundel Community College will host Balanced Scorecard training for executives of businesses and organizations in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area on Sept. 17 and Sept. 18 at the Hilton Hotel, 5485 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia.

The Balanced Scorecard system teaches managers and executives to mobilize employees to fulfill an organization's mission and to translate goals into action plans.

DHL opens BWI facility

DHL, a global express delivery and logistics company, has opened a facility at BWI Marshall Airport.

It will provide aircraft container loading and unloading and deliveries for customers throughout Maryland.

TasteBuds benefits city floral displays

The Annapolis Business Association and the city of Annapolis will present the eighth annual TasteBuds, a culinary event to raise funds for the hanging flower baskets and container gardens that adorn downtown Annapolis.

TasteBuds will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Westin Annapolis Hotel, 100 Westgate Circle. Tickets go on sale Sept. 14.
