Traveling exhibit focuses on software

The Microsoft Across America Truck, a traveling educational showcase of software for business, will visit Carroll Community College on Sept. 21.

Interactive demonstrations will be conducted from 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. outside the front entrance to the college, 1601 Washington Road, at workstations inside the 42-foot truck.

Exhibits, interactive experiences, and free seminars on Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server will be available by registering online at https:--www.clicktoattend.com/invitation.aspx?code=118719.

Space is limited to the first 100 registrants. Demonstrations will be given to small groups every 20 minutes.

Participants will be given passes allowing them to board the truck during designated times. While waiting their turn, participants can visit campus educational exhibits and free workshops on computers and small business provided by the Business Training Center.

The college is offering new fall Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 classes for $99. Each class includes lunch, a laminated reference guide, a USB flash drive and textbook. To register, call 410-386-8100.

Rollins-PCI honored by magazine

Rollins-PCI Construction has been recognized on Inc. magazine's list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies in America. The Mount Airy company was ranked 61st.

According to the company, its sales have grown 2,100 percent in the past three years, making it the second-fastest-growing commercial general contractor in the nation.

Rollins-PCI is headed by president Barry Lake; project management team leader John Ford; and Chris Greaney, director of the business development team.

Rollins-PCI is a drywall subcontractor and general contractor.
