ASO PERFORMANCE

Join the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra as it waves farewell to summer and performs the last show of the 2007 Lexus Summer Concert Series. Conducted by ASO music director Jose-Luis Novo, the orchestra will perform a selection of patriotic, Broadway and film classics that will give a preview of the coming season. Some of the selections planned include favorites such as Aaron Copland's "Buckaroo Holiday," Malcolm Arnold's "Four Scottish Dances" and selections from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.

POWER PLAY

Kids of all ages can get a chance to meet their favorite Power Ranger at the 15th anniversary celebration of the Power Rangers television show. Those who attend get photos and autographs as well as grab for Power Rangers prizes in a wind tunnel.

IN THE SWING OF THINGS

Don't miss the Swing-N-Jazz celebration this weekend as part of September's First Sunday Festival. Enjoy crafts, food and live entertainment, including jazz from the Joe McCarthy Quartet and a mix of swing, be-bop, Dixieland and fusion music from the Jeff Antoniuk Masterclass Jazz Bands. There will also be swing-dancing demonstrations by the group DC's Gotta Swing and beginner swing-dancing lessons by Charm City Swing.

PET PROJECT

Join Harford Community Radio, 91.1 WHFC-FM, this weekend at the Laurrapin Grille for an evening of food, fellowship and live acoustic music that will benefit the Humane Society of Baltimore County. DJ Steve Cochran, host of Roots Cafe on WHFC and formerly of WKTK and WQSR, will host the event with other WHFC personalities. The grill will also donate bar tips to the humane society. Shelter volunteers will be on hand with adoptable dogs and cats.
