Rock the park

The lowdown -- More than 100 bands will perform at this weekend's Park Rock Fest 2007 at Chancellors Run Regional Park in Great Mills. Performers include HydraFX and Kneel to Zod.

If you go -- The festival runs 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the park, 21905 Chancellors Run Road in Great Mills. $15-$20 per day. Call 301-737-5680 or go to parkrock.com.

Skipjack race

The lowdown -- Check out this year's Skipjack Race and Land Festival at Deal Island Harbor. Sunday's events include a 1 p.m. parade, kayak races from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., musical performances from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and more. Monday features a fishing tournament, the skipjack race and contests.

If you go -- The festival begins at 1 p.m. Sunday and at sunrise Monday on Tangier Sound off Deal Island on the Delmarva Peninsula. Admission is free from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, $5 for the 7 p.m. performance by Captain Quint, and $5 Monday (free for children younger than 12). Call 410-784-2799.

Ride and run

The lowdown -- The second annual Save-a-Limb event on Sunday offers a variety of events for the competitive outdoors enthusiast. These include a 60-mile bike ride (6:30 a.m.), a 30-mile ride (8:30 a.m.), a 9-kilometer trail run (9 a.m.), a 6-mile bike ride (9:30 a.m.) and a 1-mile walk (10 a.m.). There will be a picnic at 10:30 a.m.

If you go -- The event is at Oregon Ridge Park, 13401 Beaver Dam Road in Cockeysville. Registration is $30-$75. The picnic is free for participants and $10 for guests. Call 410-601-2483 or go to savealimbride.org.
