1 --Ranking in the Boys' Latin senior class held by tackle Dennis Mahoney, who has a 3.99 grade point average.

3-3-5 -- The unorthodox defense that Severna Park plans to run this season, utilizing the Falcons' team speed and ability to blitz.

4 -- Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference titles won by Archbishop Curley in five years before moving up to the A Conference in 2005 and going winless. The Friars played an independent schedule in 2006 and went 9-2.

5 -- State titles won by Baltimore City schools since joining the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association in 1994. Dunbar won its fourth last season and Edmondson its first.

30 -- Returning seniors at Calvert Hall where alumnus Donald Davis, a former Cardinal Gibbons coach, attempts to turn around a 1-8 team.

45 -- Touchdowns scored by Zach Martin (25) and Michael Campanaro (20) last season in leading Class 3A state finalist River Hill to a 13-1 record and The Sun's No. 1 ranking.

53 -- Career touchdowns scored by Dunbar's Tavon Austin in just two varsity seasons, making him a threat to the state record of 87 by Old Mill's Ryan Callahan (2003-05).

282 -- Career wins for Wilde Lake coach Doug DuVall (282-69), the most for an active coach in the metro area.
