OUT: Sam Hollenbach, former starting quarterback: Graduated after leading the Terps to their first bowl appearance in three seasons.

IN: Jordan Steffy: Redshirt junior who has never started a game and whose early career was marred by injuries.

OUT: Adam Podlesh, four-year starting punter: The only player in Terps history to be named All-ACC four times is now playing in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

IN: Travis Baltz: Freshman from Ohio who averaged 40 yards per punt as a senior.

OUT: Wesley Jefferson, starting middle linebacker: Left the team to pursue a career as a state trooper.

IN: Dave Philistin: Has played the position for little more than two weeks; would be the third starter in three seasons.

OUT: Stephon Heyer, starting left tackle: Graduated and is now with the Washington Redskins.

IN: Scott Burley: After dealing with injuries the past two seasons, Burley is faced with the task of protecting the blind side of an inexperienced quarterback.

OUT: Jared Gaither, former offensive tackle: Declared academically ineligible before being selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of the NFL supplemental draft.

IN: Jack Griffin: He likely will share time with Dane Randolph at right tackle.
