GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- Jerry Seymour rushed for a game-high 220 yards and three touchdowns, leading Glenville State to a 29-19 season-opening victory over Bowie State last night.

Peter Mensah rushed for 59 yards and touchdowns of 4 and 6 yards for Bowie State.

Bulldogs quarterback Jason Scott completed 12 of 30 passes for 141 yards.

Glenville State opened the scoring with 8:55 left in the first quarter on Seymour's 44-yard run. Jared Dearing's 14-yard score made it 13-0.

Rodney Webb (78 yards) put the Bulldogs on the board with 9:51 left in the second quarter, rushing for his first collegiate touchdown from 9 yards to cut the deficit to 13-6. Mensah tied it at 13 later in the half, rushing for a 4-yard touchdown.

Seymour's 3-yard run with 11:57 remaining in the third quarter put Glenville State ahead to stay.

Bowie State next plays Sept. 18 against Newberry College in South Carolina.
